What is it all about, anyway?

I've been thinking - What do we want out of life?

We know it should be the success in the hereafter to aim for. Investments should be made for the eternal life, but what the hell are we doing mingling around everything else right now? How intense are we seriously thinking about the life after death?

The pursuit of Wealth. Fame. Power. Pride. Women. Happiness, and...

Knowledge. For whom are we doing all these, anyways?

Even the Muslims are slowly absorbed, to some extent, into being more of what we call 'worldly' - not that I didn't admit that I might just be one of these people, too.

Financially successful or not, how do we size in terms of getting ready for death? This is something that bothers me oftentimes.

Being a Muslim, we pride ourselves of born already 'knowing' what's the meaning of life because of our religion's nature. But, do we really know what life means? And do we only preach but not practice? (Do we even preach that much?)

Or are we JUST ASSUMING that we know but our unconscious mind has figured out that it's just another bullshit, yet we keep suppressing that thought to NOT rule how we think of ourselves.

How much change do we need? And when will that happen? Will it ever happen?

We've heard this "Life Questions" a lot from westeners. But don't we need it too? Aren't we (some of us) slowly becoming just like them, too? Have we actually been practicing Hedonism (to a certain extent) but not realizing it (or not ADMITTING it) all this while? (Try Googling "Hedonism" if you don't know what it means. You'll find some good stuffs on Wikipedia, too)

I guess we should be preaching the non-Muslims and help them because we know the answer lies within our religion. But are we doing a good job? Hate to admit it, but it doesn't look like it.

Maybe the problem lies within the Muslim world itself. I think we're kinda messed up. We need to fix ourselves first, and then help our Muslim Brothers (and Sisters), then only we can spread out the word of truth (it doesn't really matter how you define truth) once we have enough strength. We tried to learn how to preach to others but have we prepared enough to start giving out? But before that, do we even have the concerns to do a preparation?

I think we might just need some help here, now.

Well, I was just throwing out some questions here. These are really serious questions everyone can argue back and forth forever. I don't necessarily need an anwer or anything, but feel free to spell out your thoughts if you have some. Just wanted to share this and make all of us think to remind ourselves. And that's including me, of course.
